From use case to show case

Before you
start writing

Before you start writing, think about your audience and where to find them.

Define your target audience

Who is your message for? The content, tone of voice, language and the channel depend on your target audience. E.g. professionals will understand jargon or technical terms, but the general public won’t.

In general, communicate from the perspective of the receiver, rather than the sender.

Choose suitable social media

The varying social media channels serve different purposes. LinkedIn is more suitable for longer technical updates than Twitter and the people on Facebook belong to different social groups than those on LinkedIn.

For instance, farmers are more active on Facebook, the research community is more active on Twitter. Keep this in mind.

Use the existing IoF2020 communication material

IoF2020 developed specific material to support your individual message. Use the visual identity and consider whether your message can be disseminated via the IoF2020 social media channels, your personal use case website page, the online magazine or the status update magazine.

This will further increase your visibility.
